These new technologies make it possible for us to be constantly tracked, and can easily and inexpensively document our entire lives.
Intrusive surveillance of citizens is a prominent feature of undemocratic regimes
The dystopia described in George Orwell’s 1984 is technologically possible. If we do not set limits for the authorities, we will end up with a police state instead of a state with police, living in a society in which our every movement is monitored and stored and the government has access to our private information with the click of a button.
